Club Unicornio (active 2003-2008) was a collective of artist-DJs who played Peruvian chicha, cumbia, Mexican sonidero, mambo, obscure 80s ballads, reggaeton, electroclash, garage, new wave, post punk, and underground music from Latin America. The project was the first of its kind in the Bay Area. Members consisted of Julio Cesar Morales, Luis Illades, Joseph Franko, Eamon Ore-Giron, and Juan Luna-Avin, who also created visuals and many of fliers for the DJ sets.

Club Unicornio performed to diverse audiences at commercial and art venues, including Casanova Lounge; Great American Music Hall; Slim’s; Café Du Nord; Queen’s Nails Annex; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts; SFMOMA; New Langton Arts; and the Hammer Museum for its Also I Like to Rock summer concert series. The collective also hosted acclaimed DJs Camilo Lara (Mexican Institute of Sound, Mexico City), Negro (Mexico City), and Chucuchu (Cumbia Cartel, Tijuana).
